CSO Process Overview
- Create an active user account with CP Offsets here
- Once you have created your account determine which CSO project you are interested in applying for
- Review the Application and any Checklist provided
- Complete the application by either printing it and filling it out or completing it online ad then printing it out
- Once the application is completed please Submit it to the address on the application as soon as possible
Your project will then be submitted to our CSO experts who will evaluate your application using the CCX protocols, standards and guidelines.
Once your project has been selected for project verification you will be notified and the verification and certification process will begin. The length of this process will depend on the accuracy and detail you have provided during your initial, checklist, application and contact processes. Initial review will only take several days and then you will receive a "Project Worksheet".
Even though different types of CSO projects have separate and very different requirements, all projects are subject to the same rigorous application process, verification and on-going certification. There are no exceptions.
If your project is not accepted you may appeal by contacting us to set up a meeting and go over the deficiencies within the proposed project.
Once approved, all projects are required to have a third party independent inspection by a CCX and CP certified verifier. The verifier will use the information provided in the CSO application process along with possible site visits to assess the projects viability and potential for GHG reduction through actual Carbon Sequestration or Destruction.
Once your project is approved, accepted and has passed all regulatory hurdles you will be issued CCX Carbon Financial Instruments, which will be converted to USD $’s and deposited directly into your selected account. The payments will be minus any CCX charges, escrow, pool or regulatory requirements and verification expenses and equal to the projects calculated destruction of CO2. These credits are issued annually, after the sequestration or destruction has occurred, and will be compatible with the CCX CFI value for the year the individual offset was achieved.
Members of the CSO team will be available to assist you at anytime with technical support and to help assess your CSO project eligibility.
